if you're anything like me (at which point you can stop here, because you already know where this is going), you cringe every time you hear something about "occupy wall street" nowadays. while it was a beautiful thing to see americans actually get off their asses and unite behind a cause other than how we kill chickens before we eat them, the whole movement became…well, annoying.
instead of occupying wall street, here are some things really worth occupying…
sallie mae.
forget bernie madoff, this heaux is the biggest crook in U.S. history. it says something about our culture when the way people avoid paying student loan debt back is to go back to school…and go deeper into debt. and sallie gives no f*cks about whether you've found a job or not, because after those six months, you will get a bill in the mail.
reality tv shows about alleged "wives."
there has to be some kind of rule about false advertisement. call me old-fashioned, but i could have sworn that in order to be considered a housewife, you have to have a husband. no? i think i should start a petition to re-name these shows "[insert sport here] groupies, baby mamas and ex-girlfriends." would you sign it?
twitter baptist.
don't get me wrong, i'm very grateful to have positive people in my life…and my social networks. but what i don't appreciate is feeling like i'm reading a fire and brimstone sermon as i scroll through my timelines, especially when you ain't practicing what you preaching. let deepak chopra do his inspirational thing…and you continue to tweet about doing hoodrat things with your friends. k?
and finally, the biggest thing we should occupy is…
mediocrity.
this just goes without saying. i'm over single parents wailing about how they work a 9 to 5, then manage to go home and take care of their kid(s). i respect your hustle, but on the same token - that's what you SHOULD be doing. getting to work on time? SHOULD be doing. get the picture? don't stand for mediocrity. you're better than that.
let's meet up on a google hangout and make this happen. who's with me?

I say this all the time, you get no accolades for doing what you suppose to do.
